Member Policies

Important Policies at Empire State CrossFit

Class Sign Ups

  • Please sign up for classes on ZenPlanner. This helps us know who’s coming to class, and ensures that we provide the best service by keeping classes at the right ratio of athletes to coaches.
  • You may sign up for class 24 hours prior.
  • Classes at Empire State CrossFit have a maximum size of 18 athletes. You will not be able to join a class if it is full. However, we do have a 4 person waitlist you can sign up for.
  • Waitlisted individuals will automatically be added to class if there is a cancellation.
  • You may sign up for any class or open gym right up until one hour prior via your ZenPlanner app.

Class and Private Session Cancellations

Cancellation policy for classes:

  • You may ‘cancel’ from any class or open gym up to 60 mins before the posted class time via the ZenPlanner app and not incur a cancellation fee.
  • If you do not cancel or “no show”, before the posted class time via the ZenPlanner app, you will incur a $6 fee.
  • You will be automatically added to a class from the waitlist 60 minutes before the start of a class.
  • If you are booked for a class or open gym and do not show up, this will be considered a ‘no show’ and will incur a $6 cancellation fee.
  • If you are on a punchcard or 15 class/month membership, any ‘no show’ of a class or open gym will  forfeit one session for the class.

Cancellation policy for Foundations, Private Foundations, and Personal Training:

  • You must inform Empire State CrossFit of cancellation 12 hours before start.
  • Must be done via email to [email protected]
  • If notice is not given, or given less than 12 hours notice, you will forfeit the session.
  • If you late cancel or do not show up to a Personal Training session, you will incur a $25 cancellation fee and will also forfeit that personal training session.

Open Gym

  • Clients must sign up for Open Gym via ZenPlanner as if it were a class. We need to know who to expect in the gym.
  • Open Gym is not currently a coached environment. Please do not expect coaching during Open Gym. If you’d like one-on-one coaching, let’s talk about some personal training options!
  • No Show cancellation fees apply to Open Gym.

Bag Drop/Member Area

  • PLEASE keep your bags up in the members area in the back with the cubbies.
  • Bags not dropped in this area will be moved to this area at the discretion of the coach/staff on hand.
  • Items put in the member are for daily usage only. Do not leave anything behind.

Membership Cancellation

  • All cancellations must be made in writing.
  • To cancel your membership, just request cancellation via our website’s Membership Cancellation Request page (at the bottom of our website), or by email.
  • Memberships cannot be sold, transferred, or shared with another party.
  • If you decide to reactivate your membership in the future (and we hope you do) membership rates in effect at the time of reactivation will be applicable as membership rates are subject to change.

Payments

  • Payments for membership are set up to draft on the 1st of the month, depending on what suits you.
  • Memberships will be prorated based on the date you decide to start your membership. For example, if you join on the 10th of the month, you will be charged for the time period between the 10th and end of the month based on the per-day cost of your membership.
  • Members are required to keep a card on file and we reserve the right to charge any open account balances.
  • All memberships automatically renew on the expiration date of the prior period unless you notify Empire State CrossFit.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive 5 minutes or more late to a class, you will not be allowed to join class.

Extracurricular Work

  • We encourage you to come early and stay late so that you may get that little bit of extra work in, or spend some time enjoying our community.
  • If you have some impediments, weaknesses, or skills that require a little extra work, feel free to come in to class 15-20 min early and leave 15-20 min late. Just make sure you ask the coach each time; e.g. “Coach, do you mind if I work on ________ over here, out of the way before/after class?”
  • Extra credit work or alternative work lasting more than 15-20 min must be done in our turf room, unless the room is being used for CrossFit or Foundations class. If the room is being used for class, you will be asked to come back during Open Gym times.
  • Our coaches have ultimate discretion as to whether or not you will be able to do extracurricular work before and after class.

Parking

  • A CFL parking sticker is required for access to the parking lot off Strong St. You will be given a parking sticker when you join the gym.
  • If you do not have a parking sticker and you park in the lot off Strong St, you are subject to having your vehicle towed.
  • Parking is available as well in the parking lot directly behind the building with access off N Thomas St.
