I started CrossFit 3 years ago. I am fascinated with the programming aspect of it and enjoy programming for the ESCF Community as well as individual.

I have had so many memorable experiences with CrossFit; there is no way I can narrow it down to just one. Coming in First in our Heat in Regionals on the row hang clean wod and winning the Battle of the Boxes after being open for just 6 months are just two of the many. ESFC is truly a family atmosphere and I am extremely grateful to all members for making it such a great community.

I found CrossFit almost 2 years ago and have been obsessed ever since. I was a D1 diver in college, so I have always had a competitive spirit. There was a year after I finished school and before I found CrossFit where I was sort of “lost” in my fitness life. I joined CrossFit Mount Kisco in January 2014. Almost immediately after beginning, I knew I wanted to work my way to the next level. I am chasing a dream of becoming a Regionals and possible Games athlete.

In December 2014, I left my old box and joined Empire State CrossFit. I saw a huge shift in my abilities almost immediately. Dan and all of the coaches were so invested and willing to help me become better. The community at Empire State is unlike any other. Dan changed my life when he offered me a full time position. I left my comfortable job in public accounting to chase my dreams and became the Head Coach at Empire State CrossFit. I am so excited to be on this life journey and share it with everyone at ESCF!

I have been training CrossFit for 3 Years. CrossFit has affected my life by providing the camaraderie of the team aspect of sports that I missed. Even though everyone works individually to their own capacity. Everyone encourages others to work to their fullest potential and test their limits.I don’t really have a favorite, but I like all the power movements such as the clean (power, squat clean and hang clean), squat and deadlift.

My most memorable moment at Empire State CrossFit is walking into the old gym after 2 months and joining Dan and Paul in the hero WOD Nutts.

I have been training CrossFit for 3 Years. CrossFit has not only benefited me physically but mentally as well. It teaches you what your body is actually capable of doing. It pushes you in such a positive way, the whole time joined by the rest of your “Gym Family”, pushing and supporting each other.I don’t have one favorite workout or movement. What I like about the workouts is how their constantly changing, always throwing in new movements, and elements of surprise.

My most memorable moment at Empire State CrossFit was participating in the 2012 CrossFit Regionals Team. It was great to participate in CrossFit at the next level. The team and amount of friends from ESCF that came to support made the weekend an incredible experience!

This is my first experience training others and I’m very thankful for this opportunity. I spend a lot of my free time reading about CrossFit-related topics and watching video clips in an ongoing effort to better educate myself and others how to work smarter and safer while improving our fitness. I started at Empire State CrossFit in June 2011 (during the yellow gym days!). I received my Level 1 Trainer Certificate in July 2012 and my Movement and Mobility Trainer Certificate in October 2012. And, more importantly, I convinced my wife to join ESCF in October 2011! In a nutshell, CrossFit has allowed me to reach a level of fitness I never thought was possible while giving me the chance to form lasting friendships with awesome people I might not have otherwise met.

The many memorable moments include being part of the ESCF contingent cheering on our first regional competitors in Canton, MA, and just about every Saturday morning class, because the workouts are especially fun and Saturdays bring the weekday morning/evening crews together so we get to make more friends.
